Life lessons from running up mountains [New Podcast Episode]

Hi there,

It's mountain season again :) Which means, as I write these words I am filled with an ache and fatigue that echoes a song of one big climb after the next as I've been after one summit, followed by another and another until, that is, my legs have told me they are quite done, and in need of rest.

A BIG rest! One that will take me into my next BIG event that is, once more, running 100 miles through the Sawatch mountains in central Colorado.

Oh, what a journey!

One that I am so excited to speak to in the latest Upward Slopes Podcast Episode that just dropped:

So here's the thing about this episode:

Yes, I get to talk about running 100 miles! In it, I speak to what happened after I crossed the finish line two years ago. It's a story of letting go of Ultra Running as I went into deep questioning of whether or not this wild sport is in alignment with what I best be doing in life.

It's a process that I teach regularly: the ability to listen deeply within as we turn inward for the answers that can best guide us forward in alignment with what really serves.

Spoiler alert... since I am, indeed, ready to show up on the starting line once more, the answer is a resounding YES! I am here for it!!! And I am excited to share story about it.

More than this, I bring you this episode because what I really want to speak to is this:

There is a problem that I see alive in our world. It is one that I have lived out, myself, such that it brought me immense pain and suffering and led me to live many years missing out on the true joy and wonder that is available for all of us in this world.

This problem has everything to do with our hyper-masculine way of being in this world: one where we over-emphasize plan and process and structure and goal and achievement...

... while simultaneously under-emphasizing the feminine that brings us into states of presence through felt connection and embodied awareness.

It's not about throwing out the masculine way of using our heads to set goals and think through how we best get there.

Rather, it's about calling in a more powerful feminine way of being that allows us to move through life filled with more of what life actually has to offer!

There's so much more I could say, which is why I recorded an entire podcast episode for you!

I am writing to you today from 10,000 feet above sea level, after deciding to spend a good chunk of this month up high in the big mountains of Colorado! Summitting peak after peak.Running through one forest after the next.Dipping my fingers in all the wild crystal ice creeks.Taking time to rest beside alpine lakes. I have returned from running mountains to spend a few days of focused work. I have a book I am writing, plus I continue to put out opportunities to join me in conscious connection:...

Soul Fire It is the phrase that holds my attention as we move through this powerful time - one that is ripe with opportunity to lean into the spaces that matter most to you; To step off of the wheel that guides us all in a slumber; To step into a life of conscious co-creation, with your head on your shoulders and your heart and soul guiding you to where you best be going. With this, I find myself in the fires of creation as I continue to bring you more ways to step into this potent space....

Whatever you do to Her,you do unto the whole web of life:The one that connects to you,the one that weaves through you, that becomes you, that is, you. ~ From "To Grow A Forest" Hi there, I've been thinking about this little piece I wrote last week. I wrote it for one of the books I am writing, but it has since made its way into a blog post, and its message is pouring through anywhere I show up. The thing is, we have this narrative in our world, and it tells us all the ways we are separate,...
