Yesterday, I showed up in your inbox with a BIG announcement that, coming January 2026, UpwardSlopes will officially be shifting over into ForestBody! In case you missed it, you can read that announcement here. I recommend that you do, because it has important information regarding what is to come. With this email, what I want to do is introduce you more formally to the grounds of the embodiment work we will be focused on in the upcoming months (and years), and to offer a special opportunity to dive straight into this beautiful body of work that I have come to know as the grounds of what is needed for humanity during these wild times. - An Opportunity to Dive Straight InBeginning January 2026, I will be teaching The Embodied Path in a structured form. This is to say, I will be bringing all that I have learned as a student, teacher, and facilitator in embodiment and spirituality, and bringing it to you in a structured, teachable format aimed at supporting your healing, growth, and expansion (as well as that of the whole web of life on Planet Earth). I have thought long and hard on a structure and process for teaching a spiritual path that is highly feminine (embodied, individualized, fluid), rather than overly masculine (linear, goal-oriented, "optimized"). The solution that I have come up with is one that, I believe, holds within it a strong balance between the two (the masculine and feminine). It is one that, I hope, is able to bring in far more of the masculine "structure" without being overly rigid, allowing the individual the fluidity and freedom to pursue it in the best way that serves him/her. Recall that, as one of the fundamental principles of The Embodied Path, the ability for the individual to act based on the present moment, and not some "idealized" or "optimized" formula created by someone else, is essential. The human experience is not some cookie-cutter path up some thoroughly understood path (as many would teach). Rather, the human experience is about knowing oneself, connecting into this moment (the one right here, right now), and making decisions based on this moment. In other words, life is not about looking outward to follow pre-scripted answers to over-simplified choices. Instead, life is about knowing life in all its complexities (self in relation to the greater world), and making the best (often imperfect) decision at the moment. To do this, I cannot possibly create a step-wise spiritual path with idealized ways of acting and believing and practices to be done in order. This model simply does not fit the true human experience (despite countless individuals over the ages creating spiritual paths like it!). Instead, the path needs to be non-linear, truly present-centered, yet still teachable in a group format. Fortunately, I believe I have a solution. - This past summer, I sat down and created the following:
Together, these will be taught in a practice-centered method, guiding you to cultivate both skills (active) and states (passive) that I believe will help humanity (and this planet earth) get to where it needs to go. If you want to learn more about The Embodied Path, you can Read this post introducing the 11 Spiritual Practices at the heart of The Embodied Path that I released this past autumn. With these 11 practices as one of our guides, and with the 4 Spiritual Skills & States Most Worth Cultivating (to be released soon), The Embodied Path now comes to you as a structured, practice-centered approach to your spiritual awakening. To join in, you have two options:
Let's talk about this is going to unfold for anyone, How it is going to unfoldAs I have spoken to in depth, January is not a great time for " bold new beginnings." We are here in the depths of winter. Inward, and moving slow. That being said, January marks the beginning of the calendar year that our society has largely agreed upon. Therefore.... This January 2026, we will officially be shifting over into ForestBody, marking this "grand new beginning!" However, in terms of the real practice-centered work, we will not begin until springtime. Springtime is the time of year of "emergence." This is when our vitality really returns: That sprout pushing up from the Earth, ready to grow anew! However, while we rest deep in the Earth, there are grounds for this work to be laid down. This will be our focus for the next two months: Creating the foundations for the material that is to come. Then, come March, be ready to get started with the series of practices outlined in this post. Along the way, I plan on taking the opportunities I get to dive into the "States and Skills Worth Cultivating" on The Embodied Path, states and skills that include:
How to join in:For those who are mildly interested in this body of work, simply open the Newsletter each week to participate. For those looking to dive deeper into this work, simply reply to this email and let me know you are interested. We need at least 5 people for this group to get off the ground. Big love, Katie |
I tell stories and teach practices focused on a fully embodied experience of this life. Whether I am out running on the trails, climbing mountains, teaching a yoga class, writing a book, or working with a client 1-on-1, I am here to support a greater connection (mind, body, Earth) as we become ever more capable of healing: our own selves, our communities, and our dear planet
Hey there, today I have an important announcement for you, with exciting details :) Coming January 2026, we will officially be shifting from UpwardSlopes over into ForestBody! The creation of ForestBody.com and ForestBody LLC are the next giant steps towards the fruition of the long-time vision of mine: A vision that holds the full integration of the mind/body/earth embodiment work that I have been focused on these past many years. This is where spirituality meets biology and ecology, weaving...
Hello Beautiful Souls! Welcome to November, an interesting time of year when the energy of the world gets pulled down... down... deep down into those potent spaces that are inviting you into next level transformation: Not the kind that requires any more extensive doing, nor any sort of working hard to achieve the next big thing! But instead, the quieter kind, one that invites you in with a gentle downward pull: An offer for nourishment, and for healing, and of letting go so that you create...
Connection is the path of remembering,We are interwoven; as one. Hi friends, For years, I have been writing over on the We Are The Forest Substack as a path to embodiment: that is, to knowing ourselves as the whole, complex, interconnected beings that we are. By interweaving my spiritual and biological teachings, it is a space that allows each of us to explore within, as we simultaneously open to the ways we are connected beyond a limited view of self. I know this to be a path to healing,...
