Attention readers, you are receiving these emails from my brand new email, katie@forestbody.com. Please ensure that this email is saved and marked free from spam! Hi there, Every Autumn, our lands go through a magical, profound transition as they experience it all:
Through it all, us humans get to experience the beauty and joy, the bountiful harvest, as well as that subtle signal to, too, begin to settle. This Autumn, I have been experiencing the highest of peaks. From running my fourth 100 mile mountain trail running event, to entering into marriage, my heart overflows in a way I have not ever experienced before. Joy. Fulfillment. It lives here in my body this season in a way that leaves me, today, glowing and wholly content. Autumn is the full expression of joy, followed by the return to groundThis Autumn, I have been deep in contemplation of ground. You all know that this is not new for me. As an Earth Priestess, Yoga Teacher, and Embodiment Coach, I am so often contemplating ground as the way we experience safety, meaning, and our deepest connection to what matters. This time, I am thinking about the grounds we create for ourselves: It is like the way the aspen groves spend all summer soaking in sunlight, pulling up nutrients from the Earth, creating leaves that shine colorfully. Then, Autumn comes, and aspens put on their fullest display of color: the brightest of oranges, golden yellows, and in the rare case, vibrant red. But they do not cling to these! Instead, they hold these leaves loosely, allowing the winds to take them when they will. As the leaves fall, they make their way gently to the surface of this Earth, where they will lay atop the soil, decomposing to create the nutritious grounds for next years. From this ground, life will rise again, free to shine in all its beautiful colors! Until then, the aspen grove rests. Yes, what are the nourishing grounds that we create for ourselves as we give ourself time to rest, and to release all that we have been carrying that does not serve to hold any longer?Autumn Meditations (and all meditations) free and open to all this season! As part of my continued migration from upwardslopes to forestbody, I have decided to make The Forest - Membership Library free and open to all this season!
May it serve you as you cultivate a deeper relationship on your mind/body/earth embodiment path. Big love, Katie |
I tell stories and teach practices centered on grounding, centering, alignment, and discernment. I call this "The Embodied Path" and it serves as the foundation for all the ways we connect within and without. Weaving together the wisdom of the ages across global traditions, combined with the powerful wisdom and healing energy of Mother Nature, we are here doing the BIG WORK to create that brighter and more beautiful world we all desire.
Embodiment. What is it, and what is it not? Embodiment continues to be a hot subject, and for good reason! The way that society has a history of stripping us out of our bodies, taking away our humanity as we are seen for our utility, and not our inherent worth: it is a darkest of tragedies. Reclaiming our world begins with reclaiming our bodies. It begins with healing internal wounds. It begins with reclaiming feeling and emotion. But this is not the full picture! I teach embodiment through...
Hi there, Woah you guys, what a time! First I ran 100 miles, then an Aries Full Moon hit. Now I am in the final 2 weeks of prep for my wedding!! Talk about big energy! Through it all, Autumn has arrived in full force. Not only did the leaves decide to change early, but the wild tides of climate change have also brought a torrent of rain to the high desert here in New Mexico. Things are wonky. That means things are shifting! Everything is shifting, isn't it? And if you find yourself clinging...
Embodiment. It means a lot of things depending on who you ask. For me, it's simple: Em - bodiment: Being in conscious connection to all parts of self (most notably, those parts of self that have been consciously cut off in your body). To understand this, you have to understand that hundreds (and even thousands) of years of colonialization have embedded these ways of being where we are actively taught to keep our attention outward. Don't pay attention to body. That's weakness. That's sin....
